Part of a series of photos playing with light. In this shot, I was trying to “capture light” by binding it in the circle. The tiny ring was probably less than a few inches wide, so capturing the sun was all about perspective.
This shot was taken on a moving sailboat in New Jersey. The sun was setting and I wanted to capture something that felt special. I shot around 30 pictures before I captured the sun in the circular ring that was part of the rigging on the boat. For this photo, I brought up the colors to show the beautiful warmth of the Summer sunset.
